HUD: Utica housing authority awarded $173,000 to support people with disabilities

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded the Utica Municipal Housing Authority nearly $173,000 to provide affordable housing for non-elderly individuals with disabilities, HUD announced in a statement Thursday.
The $172,793 award is part of $131.3 million awarded to 325 local public housing authorities nationwide. More than $2.6 million was awarded to housing authorities in New York, including Utica, Syracuse, Rochester, Auburn and Buffalo.
The housing assistance comes through HUD's Mainstream Housing Choice Voucher program.
