Florence District Five to conduct search for children with disabilities

JOHNSONVILLE, S.C. ? Florence County School District Five presently provides programs or is planning programs or services for children with the following disabling conditions: intellectual disabilities, deaf/hard of hearing, deaf-blindness, visual impairment, orthopedic impairment, speech-language impairment, specific learning disabilities, emotional disability, traumatic brain injury, developmental delays, other health impairments and autism, among other disabilities.

Today, the district will conduct a search to identify children with disabling conditions who are not enrolled in school. If you have a child who does not attend school who has one of the disabilities listed above, take him or her to Johnsonville Elementary Schoolbetween 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. today. During this time, kindergarten registration will also be conducted.

Any person who knows of a disabled child up to age 21 who lives in the Florence County School District Five area and who is not in school is asked to contact Wanda Moore, special services assistant for District Five schools, at 843-386-3268.
