Support offered from local groups

Inland Hills Church in Chino offers a Christian support group for families with special needs children at 1:30 p.m. the second Sunday of the month. The goals are to provide information, skills, encouragement and fun.

Low cost childcare is available. The church is located at 14670 Ramona Ave. The group meets in building B, room 103.

Cancer survivor support group

A cancer survivor support group meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Inland Hills Church, 14670 Ramona Ave., Chino.

Support groups are for cancer survivors, those undergoing treatment, or family members or caregivers of someone with cancer.

Alzheimer's support groups

An Alzheimer's support group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at Chino Valley Community Church, 14601 Peyton Drive, Chino Hills. No fee is charged. Information: 270-0866.

An Alzheimer's and dementia support group meets at 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month at Pacifica Senior Living, Hillsborough, 11918 Central Ave., Chino. No fee is charged. Information: 548-2100. On the third Thursday of the month, an Alzheimer's support group meets at 6:30 p.m. at Oakmont of Chino Hills, 14837 Peyton Drive.

Diabetes education

Chino Valley Medical Center presents diabetes education classes at 6 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except November and December. The hospital is located at 5451 Walnut Ave., Chino. RSVP: Patti Perez RN, 464-8780.
