BRIEF: Naugatuck Police: Man Sexually Assaulted Female Patient At Nursing Home

Hartford Courant - 8/30/2017

Aug. 30--A nursing home resident in Naugatuck was arrested this week after he fondled another patient, police said.

Luis Vazquez, 54, of Weid Drive in Naugatuck was arrested Monday and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault on a physically helpless person and disorderly conduct, they said. He was in custody on $25,000 bail after his arrest.

During his arraignment in Superior Court in Waterbury, his bail was reduced to $10,000, court records show. He remained in custody, and his next court date was scheduled for Sept. 8.

Vazquez was in custody at the New Haven Correctional Center Wednesday, prison records show.

According to police, officers received a complaint about Vazquez on Aug. 9. The victim, a patient at Beacon Brook Health Care, 89 Weid Drive, told investigators he had rubbed his genitals on her.
