Coppell ISD, police investigating allegations of sexual assault at CHS

Coppell Gazette - 5/30/2017

Coppell High School said the district, along with Coppell police are investigating claims of an alleged sexual assault of a student Friday at Coppell High School.

According to a Facebook post by the cousin of the alleged victim, an 18-year-old senior with Asperger's Syndrome, the student was cornered in a bathroom, threatened by three of his classmates, then coerced to pull down his pants. At that point, the three "sexually manipulated" him, the post reads, snapping a photo of his private area and posting it on Twitter and Snapchat.

CISD responded Sunday morning with a post on its Facebook page stating:

"We would like to ? assure our community that any and all allegations of sexual abuse/assault are taken seriously and investigations by Coppell ISD and the Coppell Police Department are being conducted in accordance to Board policy and the student code of conduct. Our number one priority is to provide a safe learning environment for all Coppell ISD students."

A spokesperson for CPD did not immediately return requests for comment.

The three alleged perpetrators are also seniors, scheduled to graduate on Thursday along with the alleged victim.

The Coppell Gazette is withholding details on the names of those allegedly involved until a potential charge is made.
