The most difficult situation faced on the job: "With merger and acquisition work, compassionately and effectively managing the operational and culture transition is a challenge. Achieving the delicate balance of merging cultures with a respect for the emotional responses prompted by change; preserving the best practices of each organization in developing the new standard; and optimizing operations with a resultant 'win' for both organizations are the pillars for a successful outcome."

Career tip for students: "Be fearless and follow your passion. Be authentic to yourself and your value system. Be fully prepared and ready to actively participate. Be open - to new ideas, embrace diversity. Be kind - always."

What motivates her: "Being challenged with charting new opportunities or overcoming obstacles in a new way. Being told 'that is not possible.' "

Role model: "Working in health care for my entire career, I find inspiration in the daily performance of the caregivers facing unexpected challenges with compassion and excellence. The courage and dedication of the caregivers and the support team is a constant source of inspiration."
