Inland Regional Center holds superhero-themed Fall Festival

Nov. 09--Inland Regional Center clients, families, staff and service providers recently attended the center's superhero-themed Fall Festival at San Manuel Stadium in San Bernardino.

Inland Regional Center is a nonprofit agency that provides support to people with intellectual disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Its Fall Festival connects Inland Empire families with services available to people with developmental disabilities.

More than 80 community agencies had decorated exhibitor booths, providing information about their services. Exhibitors also provided superhero-themed, games, activities, raffles and giveaways at their booths.

Guests dressed as superheroes including Spiderman, Wonder Woman and Captain America, and they had the opportunity to take photos with the DeLorean from "Back to the Future." The event also included face painting, balloon animals, a clown, a photo booth, an inflatable maze and a boxed lunch.

The festival was presented by Pathway Inc. with additional sponsorship from In-Roads Creative Programs, California Mentor, Creating a Legacy, United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire and the Economou Law Group.

Special guests included Assemblymember ­­­­Eloise Gómez Reyes, Inland Regional Center Executive Director Lavinia Johnson and Associate Executive Director Kevin Urtz. Reyes presented a certificate to the center's staff and commended the agency for its work in supporting people with disabilities in the Inland Empire.
