Child sexual abuse preliminary rescheduled

Tahlequah Daily Press - 11/30/2018

Nov. 30--Based on a mutual agreement between parties, a preliminary hearing has been rescheduled in Cherokee County District Court for a Tahlequah man charged with three counts of child sexual abuse.

During his initial appearance on Sept. 25, Elifelel Tecumseh Quick, 23, pleaded not guilty to three counts of child sexual abuse involving two young girls.

Quick was first arrested by Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies on Sept. 13 after he allegedly admitted to sexually assaulting one of the girls over a two-year span, starting when one child was 10.

According to court documents, between Sept. 29, 2016, and Sept. 13, 2018, he forced one child to have intercourse with him on multiple occasions when she was 11, and then, when she was 12, he tied her naked to a bed and rubbed her body and private parts in a sexual manner.

The defendant is also accused of touching the 10-year-old several times on her body and private parts in a sexual manner.

If found guilty, the defendant, who is represented by court-appointed attorney Rachel Dallis, faces 25 years' imprisonment to life.

The next court date is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 9, with Judge Gary Huggins presiding. Assistant District Attorney Eric Jordan is listed as the prosecutor.
