Palm Beach Post - 12/4/2018
Dec. 04--WEST PALM BEACH -- A 23-year-old suburban West Palm Beach man is being held in lieu of $400,000 bail after he allegedly sexually assaulted and impregnated a 15-year-old girl, according to an arrest report.
Juan Francisco Joromocoj-Mendez is facing two counts of sexual assault and one count each of child abuse for impregnating a child under 16 and of battery.
COURTS
The girl, identified only as a ninth-grade student, allegedly was threatened by Joromocoj-Mendez to have sex with him or he would "send people to beat her up," the report said. The alleged assault took place in the victim's home while her mother was asleep.
The victim told Palm Beach County sheriff's detectives she repeatedly said "no" to her alleged attacker, but he would not stop and held her down.
BOYNTON BEACH
The assault took place in July and the girl was four months pregnant when she spoke to a detective Nov. 20, the report said. Her parents became suspicious because the girl was acting "strange." Initially, the girl told her parents that a boy at her school made her pregnant.
During an interview with police, Joromocoj-Mendez admitted to the assault, but said it occurred seven to nine months before. Asked if he would voluntarily provide his DNA, Joromocoj declined, according to the report.
