Man accused of sex with girl

News-Topic - 3/7/2019

March 06-- Mar. 6--A man accused in February of having inappropriate sexual contact with a girl now has been indicted on charges that he sexually abused her numerous times over the course of a year and a half, the Hudson Police Department said.

Joshua Lumpkins, 46, is accused of having sex with and inappropriately touching an underage girl at his home on Rockwood Court, Police Chief Richard Blevins said. The incidents are alleged to have taken place between mid-2017 and February of this year. Blevins would not say how old the girl was, only that she was under 16.

When Lumpkins was arrested Feb. 11, the girl had not been interviewed by staff at the Robin's Nest Child Advocacy Center, Blevins said. After the girl was interviewed, Lumpkins was indicted and charged with two counts first-degree statutory rape and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.

Blevins would not say how Lumpkins knew the girl.

Lumpkins had not yet been arrested Tuesday afternoon.
