Police: DJ for Harlem Globetrotters inappropriately touched girl in Albany

March 10-- Mar. 10--ALBANY -- A DJ for the Harlem Globetrotters has been arrested, accused of inappropriately touching a girl during a Globetrotters event at the Times Union Center, police said.

Police Saturday went to Syracuse, where the Globetrotters were performing, and arrested Jon Buckner, 32, of Riverdale, Ga., one one count each of third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.

Buckner is accused of approaching the girl during the Globetrotters' Feb. 10 visit to Albany and touching the outside of her clothing in an inappropriate manner at about 5:15 p.m., police said. The event started that day at 3 p.m.

Detectives returned Buckner to Albany, where he was arraigned and sent to the Albany County Jail, police said.

A Globetrotters spokesperson issued a brief statement Sunday: "We have been made aware of the situation and are fully cooperating with the local authorities. We will have no further comment during the initial investigation."
