Jacksonville man gets 20 years for distributing child pornography

Florida Times-Union - 3/12/2019

March 12-- Mar. 12--A 25-year-old Jacksonville man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Tuesday after videos showing the sexual abuse of children were distributed on the internet in 2016 and 2017, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Pryce Elijah Demars was sentenced for online distribution of child pornography over the internet after he pleaded guilty May 25. He also faces a lifetime term of supervised release and registration as a sex offender, prosecutors said.

FBI agents executed a search warrant at Demars' home in November 2017 in an online child exploitation investigation, according to court documents and evidence introduced at his sentencing hearing, prosecutors said. That evidence showed that Demars had distributed videos showing young children being sexually abused from August 2016 to April 2017. He said he was paid $800 to $1,000 and some video games.

The investigation also found a child Demars sexually molested several times, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. He offered to take explicit photos of the child and introduced the child to another person over the internet to commit online sexual exploitation.
