CRIME REPORT: Man arrested on rape, sexual abuse, sodomy, incest charges

March 19-- Mar. 19--The U.S. Marshals Service arrested a Lexington man Thursday evening on a Madison County warrant that charges him with third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse and incest.

According to the warrant, between June 1, 2017, and Feb. 1, 2019, 36-year-old Leonard Woodson engaged in sexual activity with a person younger than 16. The warrant also states Woodson was in a position of authority or special trust regarding the victim.

The victim told Madison County deputies that Woodson engaged in sexual activities with them on multiple occasions at a Berea location, the warrant states.

Woodson was arrested in Lexington and was booked into the Madison County Detention Center Monday morning. He remained there Monday afternoon, according to online jail records.

Berea police arrested Dylan Bracey, 29, Herndon Street, Berea, on three counts of third-degree rape Friday afternoon.

Bracey admitted to officers to having sex with a 15-year-old at least three times during November and December, according to a citation. He was taken to the MCDC, where he remained Monday afternoon, according to online jail records.

Richmond police arrested Corey Duerson, 49, Spangler Drive, Richmond, for second-degree assault, kidnapping an adult, third-degree terroristic threatening and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon because of his alleged involvement in a kidnapping and assault that happened on March 2, which then lead to a drug bust.

The victim in the case told officers that one of people directly involved went by the nickname "Murder" and provided a physical description of him, according to a citation.

Following the March 2 incident, the following were arrested: Richard Duerson, 39, Kristin Drive, Emora Bruce, 41, unknown address, Edwin Herring, 28, North First Street, Richmond, James White, 37, unknown address. Jennifer McFarland, 42, of Jason Drive, was arrested on March 8 following a recorded phone call between her and Richard Duerson where she reportedly admitted to cleaning his apartment and retrieving items for him.

The victim had told officers they believed "Murder" was possibly related to Richard Duerson, the citation states, and when officers interviewed McFarland after her arrest, she said "Murder" was Richard Duerson's cousin, his last name was also Duerson and he lived in Richmond.

On March 8, while an officer was observing McFarland's apartment, they noticed a black man drive a gray Nissan with Illinois registration into a parking lot, the citation states. The male saw the officer and left.

Officers then tracked down the rental company that owned the car and learned it had recently been rented by Corey Duerson, who had just picked up a Chevy Impala with a Florida registration. Officers also learned Corey Duerson had just moved back to Richmond.

Officers arrested Corey Duerson on unrelated warrants for nonpayment and contempt of court, and the victim was able to identify him as "Murder," the citation states. The victim told police he had struck the victim in their face with a handgun and also hit them with his hands and fists. The victim said he threatened to kill them multiple times.

He was taken to the MCDC, where he remained Monday afternoon, according to online jail records. Online jail records also list pending charges against Duerson, including controlled substance trafficking (heroin) and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.

Berea police arrested Angela Owens, 36, Mount Vernon, Sunday night on a Rockcastle County warrant that charges her with four counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Owens was arrested on North Dogwood Drive in Berea and was taken to the MCDC, where she remained Monday afternoon, according to online jail records.

Richmond police arrested Terry Boyd, 42, Kings Trace Drive, Berea, for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc., first-degree controlled substance possession (drug unspecified), third-degree controlled substance possession (drug unspecified) and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia after officers were called to the area of Interstate 75 and Barnes Mill Road because of a vehicle that was reportedly swerving from lane to lane early Monday morning.

Officers arrived and saw a vehicle turn onto Berea Road from Eastern Bypass, according to a citation. The vehicle crossed into another lane and abruptly moved back into its original lane, where it nearly hit the curb alongside the roadway three separate times. Officers pulled over the vehicle, and Boyd said he was on his way home from Lexington and was tired. He had slurred speech, and officers conducted a field-sobriety test, which revealed signs of drug use.

Officers then noticed that Boyd had a white powdery substance in his nostril, the citation states, and placed him under arrest. They also searched him and found rectangle pills in a baggie identified as Xanax.

Police also searched the vehicle and found a glass pipe with residue, a piece of paper that had an off-white substance that Boyd said he didn't know about, the citation states. Boyd was taken to Baptist Health Richmond, where he consented to a blood test, before he was taken to the MCDC.

Boyd remained in jail Monday afternoon, according to online jail records.

Richmond police arrested Jessy Register, 26, Foxhaven Drive, Richmond, for first-degree controlled substance possession (heroin), public intoxication by a controlled substance (excludes alcohol) and first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot) after officers were called to Lexington Road, where it was reported he was passed out face down in a ditch Sunday morning.

Officers arrived, and Register had pinpoint pupils, slurred speech and said his head was fuzzy, according to a citation. He said he used a Xanax bar an hour before officers arrived.

Police searched Register and found suspected heroin, the citation states. While he was under arrest, Register fled across a four-lane highway as traffic was passing to flee from officers. After being caught, he said he ran because he was wanted on a warrant for shoplifting in Fayette County, but officers could not find an active warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the MCDC, where he remained Monday afternoon, according to online jail records.

Richmond police arrested Amanda Davenport, 42, Fifth Street, Richmond, for no operator's license (mo-ped), first-degree controlled substance possession (methamphetamine) after an officer observed her driving without a license Monday morning.

Officers pulled over Davenport, who said her license was expired, according to a citation. She also said she had syringe needles inside her purse.

Officers searched her and found a piece of plastic with a crystal rock-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine, the citation states. Davenport was taken to the MCDC, where she remained Monday afternoon, according to online jail records.

Kentucky State Police arrested Daniel Price, 25, of Ohio, Monday morning for speeding 16 mph over the limit (limited access), failure to produce insurance card, marijuana possession, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, two counts of first-degree controlled substance possession (drug unspecified) and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc. (aggravated circumstances) after troopers pulled over a vehicle for traffic violations.

When troopers approached the vehicle, they could smell marijuana, according to a citation, and Price said she had smoked some of it while driving from Atlanta, Georgia, to Akron, Ohio. Troopers searched the vehicle and found a marijuana cigarette, an adderall and ecstasy. They also found a marijuana grinder and pipe. Price was taken to the MCDC, where she remained Monday afternoon, according to online jail records.

Richmond police arrested Wesley Jackson, 40, Paint Lick, Monday morning on a Fayette County warrant for theft by unlawful taking ($500 or more, but less than $10,000).

According to the warrant, on Feb. 11, an informant told police that Jackson learned how to break into air pump machines and had broken into several of those machines in Fayette and surrounding counties. One such location was a Speedway on East New Circle Road.

Lexington police went there and found the coin-operated air pump machine had been broken into, and the lock to the coin vault had been compromised, the warrant states. The quarters had also been stolen.

A loss prevention specialist pulled data from the machine to determine the dates and times quarters were stolen, and how many of them were taken, the warrant states. The amount totaled $624.50between Dec. 11 and Feb. 10. Police also pulled surveillance footage and identified Jackson as the driver of a vehicle that was seen stealing quarters on about 20 different occasions.

Jackson was arrested in Richmond and taken to the MCDC, where he remained Monday afternoon, according to online jail records.
