Jacksonville firefighter charged with child abuse

Florida Times-Union - 3/25/2019

March 25-- Mar. 25--A Jacksonville firefighter was arrested Friday on a child-abuse charge, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Jail records show 46-year-old Chadwick Paul Parker was released that evening on a $5,000 surety bond.

His arrest report lists the day of the incident as March 18 but redacts the child's name and age as well as the complainant's name. The report also does not include a narrative of the allegations.

Court records show Parker's ex-wife filed for divorce in 2012 and they have two children, a 12-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Tom Francis said Parker has been employed there since 2003 and is an engineer, according to Times-Union news partner First Coast News. He said Parker was reassigned to administrative duties while an internal investigation is conducted.
