Daily Independent - 10/30/2019

Oct. 30--GREENUP -- A Flatwoods man who was arrested on sexual assault charges has been indicted for criminal mischief after court records said he vandalized food trays at the jail.

Kevin Bowling, 32, was indicted last Thursday on the charge of first-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony punishable by one to five years incarcerated, after court records indicate he vandalized 113 food trays at the Greenup County Detention Center and caused a loss of $1,000 or more.

Bowling was lodged at the jail after being arrested in March on the charges of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy, unlawful transaction with a minor, first-degree sexual abuse and other abuse charges, according to court documents.

The minor reported the alleged abuse to an adult at her school, according to court documents. The identity of the minor is being withheld for the protection of the child.

Bowling is one of two parties being charged in the alleged abuse of the minor, according to court documents.

Angela Waugh, 29, of Flatwoods, was arraigned in April on charges of first-degree rape, sexual abuse and several other charges. She was lodged at the Greenup County Detention Center. According to court documents, Waugh is the girlfriend of Bowling and participated in the abuse of the minor.
