Paraprofessional at Orange County school arrested, accused of molesting 13-year-old student

Orlando Sentinel - 11/15/2019

A paraprofessional at Glenridge Middle School near Baldwin Park was arrested Thursday after he was accused of molesting a 13-year-old student and sending nude photos to her, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Jorge Eugenio Perez Gonzalez, 26, also pressured the girl to send topless pictures of herself, an arrest affidavit said. Perez Gonzalez has been on administrative leave since the allegations first surfaced last week, according to a spokeswoman for Orange County Public Schools.

Perez Gonzalez is at the Orange County Jail on a $16,000 bond on charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim between ages 12 and 15 and showing obscene material to a minor.

After bonding at school, Perez Gonzalez started talking to the girl through SnapChat and started sending her shirtless pictures and, later, nude photos, the affidavit said.

He also went to her home and talked her into getting inside his car where he exposed himself, forced her to perform a sex act and felt under her shirt, the affidavit said.

“She advised she felt as if she had done something wrong but did not tell anyone because she felt things would get worse,” detectives wrote in the affidavit.

One school official told detectives she saw the victim and Perez Gonzalez standing close together in the main office while talking and laughing, which she felt was odd. The school administrator also pulled Perez Gonzalez from working in one of the girl’s classes, the affidavit said.

The victim’s mother told investigators she saw Perez Gonzalez in his car outside her home talking to her daughter, but didn’t know it at the time because the victim said it was just someone asking for directions.

According to the school district, Perez Gonzalez was hired as a paraprofessional in 2017 and worked at Bonneville Elementary School before moving to Glenridge in September.
