Buffalo News - 11/23/2019

Nov. 23--A Cheektowaga man accused earlier this year of trying to rape a woman driving for a ride-hailing service has been acquitted by a State Supreme Court jury.

James Krawcyzk, 50, was found not guilty Nov. 1 at a trial presided over by Justice M. William Boller.

Krawczyk was arrested March 19 and accused of attacking the woman at about 3 a.m.Jan. 13 on Caprice Drive in Cheektowaga. He had faced two felony charges -- first-degree attempted rape and first-degree sexual abuse.

As a result of the verdict, the charges were dismissed and the case sealed.
