Additional charges filed against alleged child molester

The Lebanon Reporter - 3/4/2017

March 04--Ronald M. Marshall, 65, of Lebanon, faces new charges, a week after prosecutors charged him with child molestation, child solicitation, and performing sexual conduct in the presence of a minor.

On Thursday, prosecutors charged Marshall with two counts of child exploitation, both level 5 felonies, and two counts of voyeurism, each level 6 felonies.

The new charges stem from evidence collected Feb. 19, after authorities were notified of Marshall's alleged actions in front of two 11-year-old girls. The latest incident involves a 12-year-old girl.

Lebanon Police Department detectives applied for a search warrant on Feb. 19 for Marshall's electronic devices. The evidence collected during that search helped lead to the latest charges.

Detectives discovered video of the 12-year-old being recorded on "secret or discreet" cameras in two separate locations of Marshall's home on a micro SD card, according to the probable cause affidavit.

On Friday, prosecutors filed a motion for a higher than standard bond. Boone County Superior Court I Judge Matthew Kincaid granted that motion. Marshall was being held on $25,000 cash or surety bond for the previous charges. He remains in the Boone County Jail.

If convicted of all charges in both cases, Marshall faces a maximum of 52 years in prison, and up to $90,000 in fines. Formal charges of child molesting, level 4 felony; child solicitation, level 5 felony; and two counts of performing sexual conduct in the presence of a minor, each level 6 felonies, were filed last week.

LPD Det. Tony Bayles said the investigation is still ongoing, and still more charges could be filed.

Marshall's jury trial for the first set of charges was set for 9 a.m.June 12 in the Boone Circuit Court. As of press time, the jury trial date and time for the additional charges were not available.
