Toledo Man Arrested for Alleged Domestic Violence, Assaults on Deputies

The Chronicle - 3/7/2017

March 07--A Toledo man accused of assaulting a woman and two responding Lewis County sheriff's deputies was charged Monday in Lewis County Superior Court.

Trevor E. Beers, 34, of Toledo, was charged with one count of second-degree assault, domestic violence, and two counts of third-degree assault against law enforcement officers.

Superior Court Judge James Lawler imposed $50,000 bail, twice the amount requested by the Lewis County Prosecutor's Office.

"I'm not worried about failure to appear," Lawler said. "The issue is the violence alleged in this case."

According to court documents, deputies responded at 7 p.m. Sunday to a business in Toledo to meet with a woman reporting an assault.

The woman reported she and Beers went home after eating and drinking alcohol at a local restaurant.

At that point, she reported Beers began striking her in the face, arms and ribs, according to court documents. Deputies reported seeing blood running down the woman's ear, face and arms, and she was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital.

The woman also reported Beers grabbed her around the neck before she got away.

Deputies responded to Beers' Toledo home, noticing blood on the front porch, according to court documents.

Deputies found Beers asleep, and attempted to wake him. Eventually, Beers woke up but allegedly became aggressive toward deputies and began resisting arrest.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Beers began throwing items at deputies, including framed pictures.

A deputy deployed a Taser at Beers, which had little effect, according to court documents. Beers then allegedly tried to lunge across a bed at deputies.

Beers was eventually arrested, and allegedly continued to threaten deputies while in a patrol vehicle before being booked into the Lewis County Jail.
