BRIEF: DA files child sexual abuse charges against Chelsea man

March 18--District 12 Attorney Matt Ballard's office filed four felony child sex abuse charges against a Chelsea man Thursday.

According to DA investigator Gary Stansill's affidavit, Paul James Lee, 44, was taken into custody Thursday evening after a warrant was issued for his arrest for "unlawfully, willfully, knowingly and wrongfully" committing sex crimes against a child dating back to the first offense in 2007, followed by three more incidences in 2012.

The alleged victim, now 18 years old, told investigators there were "numerous" other occasions she was sexually abused, but could not remember the details, according to the affidavit.

Lee was booked into the Amos G. Ward Detention Facility where his bond has yet to be determined.
