Pair to face Waynesboro grand jury in sex abuse case

News Virginian - 3/21/2017

WAYNESBORO - The case involving two Waynesboro residents charged with sexually abusing a teenage girl will be presented to a city grand jury in early May.

Defendants Houston Marion Miller, 70, and Kelly Denise Claytor, 46, agreed in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Monday that there is sufficient evidence against them to present the case to a grand jury for indictment. The next Waynesboro grand jury meets May 8.

Miller is charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of sexual battery, as well as possession of child pornography. The first four charges are misdemeanors and the child pornography charge is a felony.

Claytor is charged with production of child pornography and possession of child pornography, both felonies, as well as a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Both defendants were arrested in November of last year. According to Waynesboro police, the victim told a friend's family she was being abused by the couple. Police said the abuse went on for a period of six months, ending shortly before the arrest of Miller and Claytor.

Since their arrest, Miller and Claytor have been out of jail on bond with special conditions.
