Man arrested for domestic violence

Mohave Valley Daily News - 3/23/2017

BULLHEAD CITY - A 49-year-old man has been arrested after a reported domestic violence incident at a Golden Valley home.

Mohave County Sheriff's deputies responded Friday to a domestic violence call at residence in the 500 block of Bacobi Road.

Dispatchers told deputies that Travis Roland Burnside, 49, was intoxicated and causing a disturbance inside, sheriff's office spokeswoman Trish Carter said.

Upon arrival, she said, deputies heard female and male subjects yelling inside the residence.

As deputies entered the residence, Carter said, they saw Burnside come around a corner holding up a frying pan and attempting to chase a his 49-year-old wife.

She said Burnside stopped chasing her when he noticed a deputy standing in the hallway.

Burnside was ordered to drop the frying pan, she said, and was taken into custody without incident.

The victim reportedly told deputies that Burnside had been drinking all day and he started arguing about "anything" with everyone at the residence. She also reportedly said that Burnside continued yelling at everyone and told her that if he had a gun he would shoot her in the head.

Burnside also reportedly damaged the front door and a window screen.

The arrival of the deputies reportedly resulted in Burnside saying that he was going to kill everyone in the house, as they were against him.

Deputies contacted three witnesses, Carter said, and they all confirmed the victim's statements.

A computer check showed Burnside to have a history of domestic violence arrests.

He was booked on four felony counts of aggravated domestic violence and taken to the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.

Burnside was sentenced to 30 days in custody or a fine of $150, Carter said Wednesday. He is due to be released April 17.
