BRIEF: Corning man accused of child abuse

March 30--A 40-year-old Corning man has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse of a minor and booked into the Tehama County Jail on $1.4 million bail.
Apolinar Manriquez Arce was arrested by a Corning police officer Tuesday on the 200 block of Corona Avenue.
He was booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of continuous sexual abuse of a child, lewd and lascivious acts with child under 14, sexual acts with child 10 years or younger, sexual battery and sodomy of a person under 14.
According to Corning police Chief Jeremiah Fears, the man is accused of sexually abusing a female family member over a lengthy period of time. At this time, there appears to be only one victim.
