Toss Out Child Abuse Tournament a big success

Thirty teams participated in Exchange Club of Indian River Foundation's Inaugural Toss Out Child Abuse Charity Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, March 11, at Walking Tree Brewery. The double elimination tournament was hard-fought. The How Bout Chee team, Josh Lunceford and Jimmy McCauffin, won the first place prize of $500. Capturing second place were the Trout Lake Cornhole team of Chase Morgan and Phillip Morgan. Zach Clay and Joe Niday, the Five Dollar Joe team, came in third place. John Binkley was chair of the event.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Foundation's local projects for the prevention of child abuse. Major sponsors included Edlund Dritenbas Binkley Architects and Associates PA, MBV Engineering Inc., Schlitt Insurance Services Inc., National Bank of Commerce, Armfield - Wagner Appraisal & Research Inc., and The Ostrom Group. Other sponsors included New Perspectives Marketing Research Consulting LLC, Millennium Collections Corporation, Trusted Insurance Professionals LLC, Mark Ashdown and Andrew Molloy, Proctor Construction Company, Conrad Pickel Studio Inc., Larry Schlitt Construction Inc., Steve Frederick's Irrigation Specialties, and Summit Construction of Vero Beach LLC. Walking Tree Brewery donated a ten-gallon firkin keg of handcrafted limited-edition beer named TOCA that they created especially for the tournament and a prize gift basket. John Pertileofbagboards.net from St. Petersburg managed the event.

About the Exchange Club

The Exchange Club of Indian River Foundation is a charitable 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. It was founded in 2001 exclusively for charitable purposes, specifically to aid in the prevention of child abuse. Because members believe every child in their community should have the opportunity to grow up healthy, safe, and strong, the Foundation funds local projects in pursuit of this goal. Exchange Club of Indian River has provided the community with programs in youth activities, service, and Americanism since 1973. It is affiliated with America's service club, the National Exchange Club. Members meet for lunch at C.J. Cannon's Wednesdays at noon. Meetings feature programs on a wide range of business, government and civic, charity, personal, and professional topics. The club is also a partner in the Vero Beach Air Show.
