City man facing child sex charges

April 21--A Hazleton man faces statutory sexual assault and numerous other charges after a 17-year-old girl told investigators April 13 that he abused her since she was a young girl, according to a criminal complaint filed by Hazleton police.
Dominic Raymond Zizzo III, 26, of North Lincoln Street, faces charges that include deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years of age, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, indecent exposure, and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, when a teenager reported she was allegedly assaulted over several years, police said in court papers.
The victim said the alleged actions began when she was between the ages of 10 and 11, when she used to spend time with and sleep in the same bed as Zizzo, court records said.
Since then, the victim said that Zizzo on different occasions inappropriately touched her, which escalated to sexual intercourse as she became older, according to court records.
She cited at least a half dozen scenarios in which she was allegedly sexually abused and said the last incident occurred when she was 15 years old, records state.
Zizzo was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Donald Whittaker in Nanticoke, who set bail at 10 percent of $250,000. A hearing will be held before District Judge Joseph Zola at 10:30 a.m.April 26.
