BRIEF: See how much Al Pacino looks like Joe Paterno in HBO Penn State movie

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - 7/17/2017

July 17--Al Pacino makes a pretty good Joe Paterno lookalike.

HBO released its first photo of Pacino as the former Penn State football coach for its upcoming movie about the Penn State sexual abuse scandal.

The description of the movie reads: "After becoming the winningest coach in college football history, Joe Paterno is embroiled in Penn State's Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal, challenging his legacy and forcing him to face questions of institutional failure on behalf of the victims."

The photo was released two days after Gary Schultz and Tim Curley began their jail sentences for their roles in the scandal.

Paterno was fired as coach of Penn State in November 2011 and died two months later. In 2012, Sandusky was convicted in 2012 of 45 counts of molestation. He was sentenced to 30 -- 60 years in prison.

Here's a side-by-side of Pacino as Paterno and Paterno himself.
