Logan man charged with child abuse involving 1-year-old

The Herald Journal - 7/18/2017

Logan police received multiple calls seeking immediate assistance for a 1-year-old boy and what they found led to the arrest of the child’s father, who reportedly denies causing injury to the baby.

Bryan Teeter, 33, was arrested July 14 and has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, three counts of intentionally causing serious injury to a child, and possession of a controlled substance.

According to Cache County Chief Deputy Attorney Spencer Walsh, the baby was found with lacerations to his genitalia, bruising on his buttocks and evidence of a possible skull fracture from a prior injury.

Logan Police Capt. Tyson Budge said a caseworker who was already working in the home contacted police and asked them to complete a welfare check on the baby.

Teeter denies the allegations and reportedly told the police that the baby may have caused the injury to himself.
