The Herald News - 9/20/2017

JOLIET ? A Joliet woman was arrested for allegedly leaving a child in the custody and control of a sex offender for more than a year, according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court.

On Monday, Latifah D. Kendricks, 27, of the 500 block of Albert Avenue, was arrested on a warrant for endangering the life and health of a child.

The criminal complaint alleges that between March 1, 2016, and July 30, Kendricks allegedly left a child under the age of 18 with Dwight A. Williams, 27, a sexual predator who lives at the same address as Kendricks, according to state records.

Williams was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 13 in Will County.

Williams was charged with the crime in 2011. His victim was 12 years old at the time of the offense, according to the state's sex offender registry.

The warrant for Kendricks' arrest carries a $10,000 bond. She posted $1,000 bail for her release from custody, according to the Joliet police arrest log.

A call left with Joliet Police Deputy Chief Al Roechner was not returned Tuesday morning.
