People & Places: DaySpring Villa hosts Italian-themed fund-raiser

Tulsa World - 9/24/2017

Experience a taste of Italy at "Pasta Possibilities," the 2017 fundraiser gala for DaySpring Villa, Oklahoma's first faith-based certified shelter for domestic violence victims and the first shelter of its kind in the state for adult survivors of human sex trafficking.

"Pasta Possibilities" will include an Italian dinner, entertainment, a raffle for 161 pieces of Old Country Roses china, more than 100 silent auction items, a live auction and more. Golden tickets for a $2,500 Bruce G. Weber Precious Jewels gift certificate are available for $100 each.

DaySpring Villa was started in 1980 as The Baptist Women's Shelter in downtown Tulsa. In 1995, because of increased need for the organization's services, DaySpring Villa moved to a larger location and was certified as a domestic violence shelter from the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Since then, DaySpring Villa has provided sanctuary and services to more than 7,000 domestic violence survivors in the Tulsa metro area, providing the security and shelter these women need to reclaim the lives they were meant to live.
