The woman said she woke up her boyfriend, who needed to get ready for work, and while he was showering, he began yelling at the woman to get his belongings ready. When she told him to stop yelling, he came up behind her, put her in a headlock and dragged her to the ground. He let go after she told him she couldn't breathe. The woman said she got up and began calling police, however her boyfriend grabbed the phone and threw it against the wall, damaging it. The woman said she was chased downstairs, where she was able to use her home phone to call 911. When she began talking to a dispatcher, her boyfriend grabbed his backpack and fled the residence. Officers said the woman had bruising and swelling near her right eye and multiple scratches on her right arm and waistline. Officers escorted the woman and her mother to the Blount County Justice Center to obtain an arrest warrant for the boyfriend.
