Logan man in jail on child sex abuse charges

A 27-year-old man was booked into the Cache County Jail on Wednesday on suspicion of sexually abusing a child.

Rodney J. Thinn of Logan, 27, was charged in 1st District Court with aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony offense that allegedly took place Oct. 7.

Thinn is currently on probation for a misdemeanor DUI conviction from February, with a number of alcohol-related probation violations since, but he appears to have no other criminal history.

He made a video appearance on Thursday where bail was set at $25,000 and attorney Shannon Demler was appointed to his case.

He is currently scheduled to return to court Nov. 21.
