BRIEF: Stroudsburg man charged with molesting girl

Nov. 22--STROUDSBURG -- Borough resident Joseph E. Haschak, 70, was charged Wednesday, three months after allegedly molesting a 6-year-old girl at his home.

When the girl's mother went to get her from Haschak's residence Aug. 18, the girl reported Haschak had rubbed her belly and touched her buttocks, a police affidavit states.

The incident was reported to Monroe County Children And Youth Services and then to Stroud Area Regional Police, after which the girl was forensically interviewed at the Monroe County Children's Advocacy Center. Farther down in the affidavit, it states the girl reported Haschak had touched her vaginal area as well as her buttocks area.

Haschak was placed in Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail Wednesday and is awaiting a district court hearing.
