Deputies seek suspect in domestic violence

March 27--MOULTRIE, Ga. -- Police are seeking arrest warrants in a domestic violence case after hearing a 911 recording of the victim being assaulted as she tried to call for help.

Colquitt County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched at 7:25 a.m. Saturday to the residence of Quamesia Jenkins in the 400 block of South Morris Road.

The deputies were on their way there after getting a call of domestic violence and were told the victim had called a second time as she was being assaulted again.

Jenkins told police that the man attacked her after he got upset at her.

She had swelling to the right side of her face, police said.

A witness reported seeing the man assault Jenkins.

The suspect was not there when police arrived. After leaving the residence an officer listened to the call to 911 in which Jenkins told her assailant that she was on the phone with police. The man then could be heard assaulting her during which time she apparently dropped the phone.

Warrants will be taken charging the man with battery and obstructing a 911 call, police said.

In another reported domestic dispute:

--Ashley Strickland, 800 block Sam Rentz Road, Norman Park, reported Thursday that a male acquaintance picked her up and threw her down on her back.

Strickland told police that she is pregnant.

--Jamal Tyrone Cornelius, 26, 1307 First Ave. N.W., was charged Monday with driving while license withdrawn, leaving scene of an accident and driving with suspended license.

--Matthew Van Eure, 40, 534 U.S. Hwy. 319 N., was charged Friday with theft by taking.

--Brant Lee Odom, 38, 1588 Funston-Doerun Road, was charged Thursday with possession of methamphetamine, deposit account fraud, battery and criminal trespass.

--Javier Arrendo-Cabrera, 44, 327 Sleepy Bear Road, Norman Park, was charged Friday with driving under the influence, failure to drive within single lane, failure to stop for stop sign and leaving the scene of an accident.

--Norris Lavelle McClendon, 47, 553 27th St. S.E., was charged Friday with two counts each forgery and theft by receiving stolen property and a single count of probation violation.

--Earl Alexander Robertson, 40, 309 Jones St., was charged Friday with terroristic threats and acts and two counts harassing communications.

--Chassidy La Faye Mitchell, 25, 187 Church St., Ellenton, was charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct.

--Darius Cobb, 35, 1742 Fourth St. S.E., was charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct.

Moultrie Police

--Kenneth Bernard Enoch, 52, 1425 S.W. 42nd St., Gainesville, Fla., was charged with possession of marijuana and theft by shoplifting.

Enoch was arrested after police responded to a report of shoplifting at Dollar General, 1601 Camilla Hwy.

An employee reported that after observing a man stuffing something in his shirt he went to call 911. The man left and walked to a nearby convenience store where police found him carrying a black garbage bag.

Inside the bag an officer found four T-shirts and other clothing with a total value of $56. A small amount of suspected marijuana was found inside the jacket Enoch was wearing, police said.

--Michael Patrick Payton Jr., 31, 1330 U.S. Hwy. 319 N., was charged Saturday with driving with suspended or revoked license and failure to obey traffic control device.

Georgia State Patrol

--Elijah Alexander Gomez, 22, 1689 Hwy. 33 S., was charged Sunday with driving under the influence.

--Eliseo Vasquez, 20, 646 Bonnie Tuk Road, was charged Friday with driving without license.

--Allen Michael Robeson, 1409 Hutchinson Drive.

Burglary

Sheriff's Office

--Justin Rogers reported Sunday the theft of a stove valued at $600 from the 4800 block of Georgia Highway 133 North.

--Jonathan Ramos, 5300 block Cool Springs Road, reported Sunday the theft of $1 in the 200 block of Las Vegas Lane.

Thefts

Moultrie Police

--Susie Q, 1607 Camilla Hwy., reported Friday that a female customer pumped $10 worth of gasoline into a car and left without paying.

--Joseph Beasely, 76, reported Friday the theft of a debit card and $90 in the 1000 block of West Boulevard.

--Fred's, 2601 S. Main St., reported Sunday that a shoplifter stole a women's duffel bag valued at $12.50.

Store video showed the man walking out of the store with he bag stuffed with additional merchandise, police said.

Other investigations

Moultrie Police

--Stanley Harrison, 300 block Sixth Street Southwest, reported Friday that someone pushed a window air conditioner inside his house, leaving the window open.

Harrison told police that nothing appeared to be missing or damaged inside the residence.
