Accused teacher is released on bail

The Cape Codder - 4/21/2018

BREWSTER - Noah Campbell-Halley, the Stony Brook Elementary School technology teacher charged with the statutory rape of two first-grade students, was released April 12 on $10,000 bail.

Campbell-Halley's bail was originally set at $25,000 but was reduced to $10,000 at a hearing April 6 in Barnstable Superior Court.

The 36-year-old Harwich resident was arrested March 22 following an investigation into charges he sexually abused the students in a room adjacent to technology lab.

Brewster Police Chief Heath Eldredge told parents and school officials at a meeting that night that if Campbell-Halley were to post bail he faced a number of restrictions, including wearing a GPS monitor on him at all times. He also cannot go within 100 yards of a school, playground or park, and cannot have contact with minor children, except his own child.

He is charged with three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, two counts rape of a child under 14, and one count of intimidating a witness. Campbell-Halley pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The teacher was placed on paid administrative leave March 19, school officials said. His pretrial hearing is scheduled for June 26.
