Man arrested in Bolingbrook sex abuse case now in Will County jail

The former Glendale Heights man who was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a girl for seven years in Bolingbrook now is in the Will County jail.

John T. Trudeau, 70, of the 100 block of East Avenue in Nevada, Iowa, was arrested on charges of predatory criminal sexual abuse of a child, criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse on May 17. He was originally booked into the Story County jail.

Trudeau was then booked into the Will County jail early Sunday morning on $200,000 bond.

He allegedly assaulted a girl between Sept. 3, 1993, and Sept. 2, 2000, according to a criminal complaint. The complaint alleges Trudeau started abusing the girl, who is a family member, before she turned 13 years old.

Bolingbrook police received a report of the alleged sexual abuse on Dec. 1, Bolingbrook Police Lt. Anthony Columbus said. He said the abuse took place at a residence on Sunshine Drive in Bolingbrook.

Trudeau was arrested by Glendale Heights police on Aug. 24 and was charged with possession of child pornography. He allegedly had computer equipment containing numerous files of child pornography, Glendale Heights police said.

Trudeau is due in court Tuesday afternoon.
