CRIME REPORT: Richmond woman arrested on child abuse charges

Richmond Register - 5/29/2018

May 28--Richmond police arrested Bobbie Judd, 33, of Sweet Gum Drive, Richmond, after she allegedly assaulted a juvenile.

Officers responded to the allegations after a juvenile reported to school officials that she had been hit in the head. According to Judd's citation, Judd hit the victim in the back of the head 15 times, hit the victim's face and put the juvenile in a choke hold.

Judd was booked into the Madison County Detention Center on Friday morning, where she remained Monday afternoon, according to online jail records. She is charged with fourth-degree assault (child abuse).

Richmond police arrested a woman after she was found to be 'tweaking' in the check out line at Kroger.

According to Mary Trent's citation, the 38-year-old of Ogg Lane, Richmond, had been standing at the self check-out for more than 30 minutes. When police arrived, they noticed Trent was manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance due to her sweating, biting her tongue and not being able to keep a train of thought or stand at attention. Trent also had a warrant for her arrest, the citation noted.

When Trent's purse was searched, officers found a clear bag which contained Gabapentin, which Trent stated she had a prescription for but could not provide. Trent was taken to MCDC, where deputies found a white pill bottle inside of Trent's person, which Trent said contained Suboxone and Adderall, according to a separate citation.

Trent was booked into MCDC and charged with second-degree promoting contraband, illegal possession of a legend drug and public intoxication with a controlled substance (excludes alcohol). She remained in jail Monday afternoon, according to online jail records.

The Register collects and publishes police reports as a public service to its readers. The reports often contain allegations against individuals and do not mean the individuals actually committed a crime. All people named in connection with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
