BRIEF: Molestation charges filed against Claremore man

Claremore Daily Progress - 7/27/2018

July 27--A Claremore man is facing felony lewd molestation charges.

On July 4Claremore Police Department was contacted to investigate allegations of lewd molestation of a 10-year old female by Tomas Velazquez-Pacheco.

CPD records show that investigators were told that someone knew about the molestation "for a couple years" but could not "prove it to be true."

The juvenile witness reportedly detailed several instances adding that Velazquez-Pachecho was often drunk or drinking when they took place, according to CPD records.

Records show that in an interview with investigators, Velazquez-Pacheco said he "knows [the juvenile] is of diminished mental capacity" and that he has "woke up in her bed before, but she was not in bed with him."

He reportedly told investigators he was told to stay away from [the juvenile] but did not understand why he was told that.

CPD records show that, when asked if he has ever "touched her while he was drunk," he said "maybe."

"Tomas Velazquez-Pacheco denied ever having sex with [the juvenile] but said it was possible he touched her when he was drunk," investigators report.

Bond on the arrest warrant has been set at $75,000.
