BRIEF: Alice Paul House to expand with $1.75M state grant
Tribune-Review - 8/8/2018
Aug. 08--An Indiana County domestic violence shelter is set to triple in size with the help of a $1.75 million state grant, according to a news release from Gov. Tom Wolf.
The Alice Paul House was awarded the grant this week to construct a new shelter with additional office space. The move will increase the number of beds from 12 to 18 and add additional staff members, according to the release.
The current facility is overcrowded and has a collapsed ceiling, the release states. It is the only domestic violence shelter in Indiana County. The money is funneled through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.
