BRIEF: Springfield man charged with predatory sexual assault of child

Sept. 27--A Springfield man remains in the Sangamon County Jail after being charged earlier this week for allegedly sexually abusing a child.
Devin T. Baughman, 26, who listed an address on Imperial Valley Drive, is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13 years old and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, court records show.
The alleged incident happened Sept. 19. Baughman was formally charged on Tuesday. He is being held in the jail on $500,000 bond, authorities said.
He has a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 11.
