The height is set to just clear the wheelchair armrests and controls. The horizontal portion of the ramp at the top is very slightly past the horizontal so the ball stays there until gently pushed forward. To maximize speed, the upper portion of the ramp is straight and the lower half has a gentle curve to the horizontal.
