The Brave Warrior Project to host special needs resource fair for families

The Wenatchee World - 4/10/2024

Apr. 10—WENATCHEE — The Brave Warrior Project will have a resource fair to promote 32 agencies that service families with special needs members 1-3 p.m. Saturday at 125 Easy Street, Wenatchee.

The Brave Warrior Project multicultural family coordinator, Amelia Hernandez, said this is the second annual resource fair for the organization and free lunch from Panda Express will be provided.

Hernandez said around 300 people attended last year's fair and she hopes more people will go to this year's.

The Brave Warrior Project aims to eliminate barriers for children and adults with special needs, cancer, and chronic illness with programs and events, Hernandez said. She also said the resource fair is an opportunity for families caring for a child or adult with special needs to connect with resources they may not have been aware of.

"It's really nice to have all these agencies supporting these families and for families to see all of this support," Hernandez said.

Other organizations at the event include Discovery Behavior Solutions, Alatheia Therapeutic Riding Center, Achieve Center Pediatric Therapy, Vulnerable Person Registry, Castle Rock Early Childhood Learning Center and the Special Olympics.
