Services, support offered through Friday’s Project Family Connect

Herald and News - 7/20/2017

Klamath & Lake Community Action Services (KLCAS) is hosting the 10th Annual Project Family Connect (PFC) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Klamath County Fairgrounds Event Center, according to a news release.

During the event, community partners provide services and support for those with the greatest need in our community in one location. The event educates and connects individuals and families with services and resources that promote economic stability.

Participants receive immediate services such as medical, dental and vision care and haircuts. They have access to school supplies, children’s books, hygiene items, cleaning products, food and clothing. At the same time, they can connect with community service providers for long-term services to help them get back on their feet.

Some of this year’s scheduled providers include: the Department of Human Services, Department of Motor Vehicles, Early Learning Hub, HeadStart (Klamath and migrant), Above All Influences, Al-Anon, Cascades East Family Practice, Cascade Health Alliance, Oregon Mobile Healthcare, Faith Tabernacle, Klamath Christian Center, Family Support & Connections, Goodwill, Integral Youth Services, Klamath County Library, Disabled American Veterans and many more.

Pet vaccinations will be provided and Klamath Animal Control will be on site to assist with pet licenses.

Vintage Hair Salon will be providing haircuts and Smokey Bear and McGruff the Crime Dog will visit. The event also will include a barbecue lunch — all free of charge.
