The Brandon Sun - 9/23/2017

One of the youths believed to be responsible for stealing and crashing a car from a child-care residence has been arrested, police say.

On Sept. 17, an employee contacted police alleging that two clients, ages 11 and 14, stole a blue Volkswagen Jetta belonging to the organization and was believed to be heading to Winnipeg.

RCMP notified police the car was involved in a pursuit and crashed. Both occupants were transported to hospital in Winnipeg with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday evening and charged with theft of a motor vehicle. He was released to appear in court in October.

The 11-year-old boy was not arrested due to his age.
