CHC is now Choice Family Health Care

Central Health Center Inc. has expanded its services extensively since the organization was first established as a Title X agency in September 1974, known as Central Nebraska Family Planning.

In January 1994, it was renamed Women's Health Services of Central Nebraska. As services continued to expand, it was rebranded to Central Health Center in December 2003. Throughout 43 years of proudly serving Central Nebraska as a designated Title X agency through providing reproductive health care and contraceptive services, we have saved taxpayers millions of dollars by providing quality affordable preventive health care services. As we accept all insurance and serve a diverse population, our focus remains consistent, serving those who are uninsured, underinsured and of low income.

As of Oct. 12, Central Health Center has taken on its largest rebranding since inception to cover the newly expanded services of family health care and mental health services for women, men and children. Central Health Center has become Choice Family Health Care Inc. to encompass its new mission statement: "To provide affordable, caring, quality healthcare and health education to women, men and children."

Current and new patients will continue to receive high customer service at affordable pricing both at our Grand Island and Kearney sites. This rebranding will also include the future implementation of a Mobile Health Unit to provide services in rural communities and organizations of minority. As the Mobile Health Unit travels throughout Central Nebraska, its mission will be solely to complement current health care services already in existence in your communities and to ensure everyone has equal access to quality and preventive health care services.

Along with this new mission, we encourage you to contact Choice Family Health Care to inquire about the Contraceptive Access Project (CAP) that provides the most affordable contraceptive services in Central Nebraska, coupled with education.

Join us for our open house events at 4503 Second Ave., Suite 209, in Kearney from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 28 and at 217 E. Stolley Park Road, Suite E, in Grand Island from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 5. Appetizers, tours and random door prizes will be given out.
