BRIEF: Stark ESC approves Family Council director Stark County Educational Service Center Governing Board

Nov. 17--Thursday meeting

KEY ACTION Approved the hire of Daniel Gichevski as the director of the Stark County Family Council, which is a partnership of government and nonprofit agencies, schools, and community health and human service organizations that seeks to close gaps in care for Stark County's neediest families.

DISCUSSION Gichevski, who began the job as director July 1, will earn a salary of $49,793 a year. The Stark ESC is the fiscal agent for the family council.

OTHER ACTION -- Learned that treasurers and superintendents from Stark ESC member schools have received new training on cybersecurity. Superintendent Joe Chaddock said while no local student data or financial information has been compromised, school leaders need to remain vigilant for suspicious emails and other requests. -- Adjourned into an executive session to discuss the compensation of a public employee with no action taken after the closed-door session ended.
