Family Service Agency receives support from 100+ Women Who Care

The Midweek - 7/3/2018

On May 9, Family Service Agency learned that they would be the recipients of the DeKalb/Sycamore 100+ Women Who Care donation. The monies have already been used to train two additional forensic interviewers for children who are suspected of having experienced severe physical, or sexual abuse. Although training will continue for those interviewers they are well on their way to helping the Children's Advocacy Center, a program of FSA, address the 43 percent increase (compared to the same time last year) in investigations that the CAC coordinates with Law Enforcement, the State's Attorney's Office and the Department of Children and Family Services. Since its inception in November 2014, the DeKalb/Sycamore chapter of 100+ Women Who Care has raised $171,500 for charities in DeKalb County.
