Federal Way lawmakers to host live town hall on child care legislation

Federal Way Mirror - 2/6/2019

Three local legislators will host a Facebook Live panel and answer questions regarding child care legislation they have introduced this session.

The lawmakers include Sen. Claire Wilson, D-Auburn, vice chair of the Senate Committee on Early Learning and K-12 Education; Rep. Kristine Reeves, D-Federal Way; and Rep. Tana Senn, chair of the House Committee on Human Services and Early Learning.

The live-streamed event happens at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 6, via Wilson's Facebook Live feed at https://www.facebook.com/SenClaireWilson.

The child care industry is a $500 billion economy and generates 15 million jobs, according to the legislators. Working parents need access to quality and affordable child care to raise healthy families. Over the last decade, the cost of child care has drastically increased, forcing families to make hard decisions about how to best care of their kids.
