BRIEF: Child care license inspector marks milestone
Caller-Times - 2/10/2017
Feb. 10--Tuesday afternoon was a routine meeting for Jennifer Jackson, a child care licensing inspector with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. That is, until she was surprised with an award.
Jackson, who has been with the department for 25 years, received an award for the milestone during a live video conference meeting with colleagues from across South Texas.
For the last quarter-century, Jackson has been tasked with making sure licensed care centers and homes are safe for children. She is also in charge of investigating complaints of standards violations and abuse or neglect in daycare operations.
The award was presented to Jackson by Sylvia Fuentes, her supervisor.
