ECCS CHILD CARE TRICKY TRAY

This year's Tricky Tray Auction will be held on March 24 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Old Tappan Manor at 137 Orangeburg Road. The $70 cost includes a four-course meal, beer, wine and soda, as well as $15 worth of raffle tickets. For information, email lari@eccschildcare.org.

ECCS has been helping children grow and learn in a safe, nurturing environment since 1976. As a nonprofit childcare center, its goal is to keep tuition affordable for working parents. Money raised at this year's event will fund not only special events for the children, but will also assist in the long-term goal of replacing the main playground.

Girl Scout Cookies

Dumont Junior Girl Scout Troop 5553 will have a Girl Scout Cookie Sale at the CVS in Closter on 234 Closter Dock Road on March 25 from noon to 4 p.m.

Closter art exhibit

The Belskie Museum of Art & Science is located at 280 High Street in Closter, adjacent to the Closter Public Library.

Through March 26, the Martin Hicks Gallery at the Belskie Museum of Art & Science of Closter presents an outstanding collection of personal art interpreted in numerous mediums by 28 artists from the tri-state area. Refreshments will be served. Artist Talks will be March 26 at 3 p.m. Museum hours are 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Hours by appointment can be arranged. Admission to the museum is free.

Demarest Shade Tree Commission

Demarest Shade Tree Commission meetings will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Borough Hall, 118 Serpentine Road in Demarest. Formal action may be taken at these meetings.

The 2017 schedule of meetings are April 11, June 14, August 8, October 11 and December 12.

Harrington Park HSA

The Harrington Park Home and School Association is selling Win/Win 50/50 raffle tickets to help upgrade technology in the Harrington Park School. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for five. The winner will be announced at the annual gala on March 30 (winner need not be present).

The Harrington Park HSA Bad Moms Night Out Gala will be held on March 30 at the Rockleigh Country Club on Paris Avenue, Rockleigh, from 7 to 11 p.m. There will be dinner, dancing, fun games, raffle baskets, 50/50, silent auctions and more. Harrington Park Historical Society

The Harrington Park Historical Society is pleased to announce Dr. Jude M. Pfister, chief of cultural resources at the Morristown National Historical Park, as its guest lecturer on April 3. The meeting is at the Harrington Park Library, 10 Herring St., beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Pfister will speak on "Becoming George: The George Washington Manuscript Collection at Morristown National Historical Park." In his talk, Dr. Pfister discusses the over 400 Washington manuscripts (including two from Martha) in the park's archival collection. Learn how the collection was put together by organizations during the late 19th and early 20th centuries before being gifted to Morristown National Historical Park.

Demarest Garden Club

The Demarest Garden Club welcomes the Butterfly Guy, Rick Mikula, on April 7 at 2 p.m., at the United Methodist Church Social Hall, 109 Hardenburgh Ave., Demarest. His program, "That Butterfly Guy." is for anyone who wishes to learn more about butterflies, their beauty, their work and life cycle.

Earth fair

This multi-town event is hosted by a different town every year, and is free to attend. Towns participating this year include Closter, Cresskill, Demarest, Norwood, Old Tappan, and Tenafly.

Earth Fair registration for for-profit groups is just $50, and is free for not-for-profit organizations, including school and scout groups. Event sponsorship opportunities provide additional visibility.

Women's Safety Walk

The Zonta Club of Northern Valley N.J. is holding its 20th Anniversary R.A.V.E. (Rape and Violence Eradication) Walk on April 29 at Pascack Brook County Park in Westwood. The purpose of the walk is to raise funds and awareness to benefit the Center for Hope and Safety (formerly Shelter Our Sisters), the YWCA Healing Space (formerly the Rape Crisis Center) and the Women's Rights Information Center. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.

The Walk is held rain or shine. Again this year we will have "Rover's for R.A.V.E." and walkers are encouraged to bring their dogs (they must be leashed). For more information about the Zonta Club of Northern Valley NJ and walk registration forms go to www.zontanvnj.org/RAVEWALK.

There is no registration fee for this walk but we encourage individuals to raise at least $25. All corporate and school teams that raise at least $500 will receive a plaque in recognition of their efforts. Student, family, and community teams are more than welcome.

Spring rummage sale

A Spring Rummage Sale, sponsored by the Woman's Club of Old Tappan to benefit local scholarships and charities, will be held on May 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Old Tappan Fire House, located at 231 Old Tappan Road in Old Tappan (next to Borough Hall, opposite Bi-State Plaza). The assortment of a little bit of everything, new and gently used, small furniture, toys, bric-a-brac, tools, collectibles, small appliances, fabrics, jewelry, paperback books and much more. Anyone who wishes to donate items for the sale may bring them to the Fire House on May 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. and May 19 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. No donations will be accepted on Saturday. Please, no donations of clothing/shoes, hardcover books, large furniture, computers, large electrical items or TVs.

Closter Nature Center summer camp

The Closter Nature Center, 154 Ruckman Road, Closter, is proud to offer its annual summer camp program to children ages 4 to 14. The 2016 summer program will begin on June 26 and end on Aug. 31. There will be no camp the week of July 3-6. Camp sessions will be either morning or afternoon, Monday through Thursday, between 9 and 4. Campers can sign up for one or more four-day weeks. Campers ages 4 to 6 will meet each day for two hours, with weekly fees of $70 for members, $90 for non-members. Campers ages 7 to 11, and 12 to 14 meet for three hours each day, with weekly fees of $90 for members, $110 for non-members. Blood pressure screening

The Old TappanBoard of Health provides free adult walk-in clinics on the third Tuesday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. at the firehouse. The clinic is staffed by a Bergen Community Health Care nurse and offers services as blood pressure screening, health consultation and educational and medical referrals.
