Middleborough Family Resource Center begins second year of full-time service in Middleborough Public Schools

Middleboro - The Middleboro Family Resource Center is entering into is second year of full-time service for the town.

Megan Quirke, who is the family resource coordinator, works within the Middleboro Public Schools to put families in contact with the mental health services they need. This service is free to all Middleborough residents, and specifically focuses on linking residents with mental health services in the area.

Ms. Quirke is a resource within the school system who can set up meetings with mental health professionals and families, or even be present in meetings at school to help address students' specific needs at both school and home. Her work is intended to bridge the gap between school and community mental health and wellness.

She also runs the Middleborough Family Resource Center blog, which functions as their website. It's updated regularly, and features information upcoming events for families and individuals with special needs.

The website features links to a number of different services, including transportation, housing, childcare, health & wellness, and helpful information about Middleborough Public Schools and activities for children and families as well.

Additionally, Middleborough has access to the William James Interface website through the Middleborough Family Resource Center, which has helpful informational links about the town, and a referral service, which has a number that any Middleborough resident can call between the hours of 9am and 5pm on Monday through Friday. This service helps pair Middleboro residents with mental health and wellness professionals in the area based on individual needs.
